Welcome to Wokingham Borough Council: pre-employment onboarding

If you have been successfully appointed, congratulations on your successful appointment to Wokingham Borough Council! We are delighted to welcome you and look forward to having you join our team. 

Next steps after verbal offer

Once you have confirmed acceptance of your verbal offer, your recruiting manager will send an appointment form to our HR Operations team. Please allow up to 3 working days for HR to issue your formal offer letter, which will include draft terms and conditions of employment. 

Acceptance and pre-employment checks 

After you review and accept the terms and conditions, our HR Operations team will begin the necessary pre-employment checks. Please be aware that these checks may take up to 20 working days. We will inform you once they are completed and confirmed to meet the required standards.

We encourage you to remain in close contact with us throughout this process to ensure a smooth onboarding experience. If you have any questions or require assistance, a member of the HR Operations Team will be in contact to support you. 

Finalising your employment

Upon successful completion of the pre-employment checks, we will send you your final terms and conditions along with your confirmed start date.
