Weeks 16 to 20: finalising the EHCP

If we decide to issue an EHCP, we will let you and other people involved know.

We will send a draft plan to you and you will have 15 days to comment. You can ask for a meeting to discuss if you want one.

You will be able to request a specific school or other setting, you want your child to attend. This could be a mainstream school or a special school.

You can also ask for a personal budget if you want to arrange and pay for care and support for your child or yourself as a young person.

We will then finalise the EHCP and send it to you within 20 weeks from the date we received your request.

If we decide not to issue an EHCP, we will let you know why
