Weeks 16 to 20: finalising the EHCP

If we decide to issue an EHCP, we will let you and other people involved know.

We will send a draft plan to you and you will have 15 days to ask for any corrections or changes. You can ask for a meeting to discuss the plan if you want one.

You will be able to request a specific school or setting you want your child to attend. This could be a mainstream school or a special school.

You can also ask for a personal budget if you want to arrange and pay for provision for your child or for yourself as a young person.

We will then finalise the EHCP and send it to you within 20 weeks from the date we received your request.
