What you can't use direct payment for

Direct payment's cannot be used to pay for goods or services that do not meet your needs or agreed outcomes in your support plan. 

Additionally, direct payment cannot be used for:

  • long-term residential or nursing care
  • services or equipment that should be provided free of charge by us or by the health service
  • everyday living expenses, such as food and drink, rent, or mortgage payments
  • medicines, tobacco or alcohol
  • gambling activities
  • any illegal activities
