Housing
The South Wokingham site will see around 2,500 new homes in total. Of these, 636 are already built to the north of the railway in an area known as Montague Park, which includes the new primary school, a neighbourhood centre with food shop and a number of parks. It was primarily built by Barratt Developments.
Most of the site is located south of the railway line, where about 1,840 homes and supporting infrastructure are yet to be built. This will be reached using the bridge over the railway and the South Wokingham Distributor Road, which will link London Road with Finchampstead Road when completed.
Three planning permissions have already been granted for development south of the railway (see planning application number 191068, planning application number 191914 and planning application number 191900.) The third phase of the western end is still subject to negotiation.
