Education other than at school (EOTAS)
Education other than at school (EOTAS) refers to educational arrangements made for children and young people with an education, health and care plan (EHCP) who, for various reasons, cannot attend what would be considered a typical school setting.
If we agree that it is not appropriate for your child or young person to be educated in a nursery, school or college setting, we will work with you to arrange for your child or young person to be educated in another way. EOTAS and is different from elective home education.
EOTAS is agreed through:
- an EHC needs assessment
- a reassessment of needs
- an EHCP annual review
EOTAS means your child or young person will not be on the school roll.
