Temporary Event Notice

Apply for a Temporary Event Notice

If you wish to hold an event that includes selling alcohol, providing regulated entertainment or serving hot food or drink after 11 pm, and do not already have a premises licence for the event, you can apply for a Temporary Event Notice.

You would need to apply as soon as possible and, in any case, no later than ten clear working days before the event (not including the day of submission or the day of the event). A Late Temporary Event Notice can be applied for if an application is submitted no later than five (but no sooner than nine) working days before the event (not including the day of submission or the day of the event).

Failure to submit your notice in time will mean the TEN is invalid and your fee will not be refunded.

To qualify for the TEN process:

  • Your event must involve no more than 499 people, including staff, at any one time.
  • You must be 18 years or older to apply for a TEN and can give a maximum of five TENs per year.
  • If you are a Personal Licence holder, you can apply for a maximum of fifty TENs per year

Each event will require a separate TEN and the fee of £21 is payable for each TEN given.
