How to get blue bin bags if you're a new resident and your address is eligible
How the blue bag collection works
The council provides an annual allowance of 54 x 90 Litre blue bags for properties that don't have space to store a 180 Litre bin, or the road is not accessible for our refuse lorry. This is the same volume as a household with a fortnightly collection of a 180 Litre black bin.
- Check on the find my collection page if you're not sure if your property is eligible for blue bag use.
To ensure that you don't run out of bags before the next delivery, we advise households to place 1 blue bag out each week for collection with their recycling bags, and food waste bins.
Crews will not collect more than 2 blue bags per property on collection day.
Try to recycle as much of your waste as you can. Consider the green recycling bags, food waste bins, chargeable garden waste scheme and bring banks throughout the borough. Our goal is to reduce the amount of general waste collected so please do all you can to reduce the amount you produce.
If you run out of blue bags, you can purchase blue bags online to be collected in person from Wokingham Borough Council, Shute End, Wokingham RG40 1BN
Cost
- £11.20 for a roll of 10 bags
A maximum of 2 purchases are allowed per year.
