Changes to blue bin bag delivery

From 12 August, waste collections for most households will change.

Read more about why we need these changes

Households changing to fortnightly collections

Most households will receive a 180-litre black-wheeled bin. This holds about the same amount as about two full blue bags. This new collection for household waste will be fortnightly.

Please be aware that blue bags cannot be put out for collection next to your new bin when the collection starts in August, but can be used within your new bin, if you have some left over.

Until the service change:

  • Most households will have received their final one roll of 20 blue bags.
  • This is enough for one blue bag to be put out per week between April and mid-August.
  • Then you will start to use the black bin for your new fortnightly collections.

Households staying on a weekly bag collection

Households that will be staying on a weekly bag collection will have received one roll of 54 bags. This is enough for one blue bag to be put out per week until the end of March 2025.

You will no longer be able to buy additional bags during this time, so maximise their use and increase your recycling.

You will receive an annual delivery in February or March next year.
