Technology Enabled Care (TEC) Service
Our Technology Enabled Care (TEC) team works with adults and their carers who require support to:
- enable them to stay safe in their own home
- be confident to go out in the community
- improve their quality of life with assistive technology
Technology Enabled Care can feel less intrusive than other forms of support and help people to feel more independent, whilst also preventing and delaying the need for long-term care.
Our TEC offer includes:
- sensors and pagers to support carers
- telecare equipment with round the clock call monitoring centres and responder services
- electronic reminders
- medication dispensers
- digital mobile apps that promote and maintain independence
Technology Enabled Care maybe available to borough residents seeking support who do not have a Care Act eligible need. The team take self-referrals and referrals from Adult Social Care and our external partners.
Our team also provide advice to other professionals, and residential and nursing homes on technology that can help keep people safe and independent. The team works with external partners and groups in health and the voluntary sector to raise awareness of what technology enabled care is and the benefits of using it.
