New rules for travelling to the EU
There are new rules to travel to Europe.
Things you may need to do before you go include:
- Checking the validity of your passport
- Getting travel insurance that covers your healthcare
- Organising pet travel – contact your vet at least four months before you go
- Checking roaming policies with your mobile provider before travelling
Visit the Gov.uk website for more details.
Living and working in the EU
Visit the Gov.uk website to find out about travelling, working and living in the EU.
EU settlement scheme
If you’re an EU, EEA or Swiss citizen, you and your family can apply now to the EU Settlement Scheme to continue living in the UK after 30 June 2021. Read our EU Settlement Scheme page for more details.
UK nationals living in the EU
There will be no change to your rights and status until after Brexit if you are a UK national living in the EU. You will still be able to work, collect your pension and get healthcare as you do now.
Your rights may change after Brexit. Visit the Gov.uk website to find out more.
Information for businesses
From now on, you will need to make customs declarations to move goods in and out of the EU. You'll need to get an EORI number, if you do not already have one. Visit the Gov.uk website to find out more.
You'll need to decide how you want to make customs declarations. You may need to get someone to deal with customs for you.
