EU Settlement scheme
Apply to stay in the UK after Brexit
The EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) allows EU (European Union), EEA (European Economic Area) or Swiss citizens and their families to apply to continue living and working in the UK after 30 June 2021. It is free to apply to the scheme.
Full information about who needs to apply, and how they can do so, can be found on the UK Government website.
EEA citizens who have Permanent Residency will need to either apply to the EU Settlement Scheme or apply for British Citizenship before the above dates.
Irish citizens, or EU / EEA / Swiss citizens with Indefinite Leave to Remain, don’t have to apply under EUSS but can do so if they wish.
The online application checks your identity and UK residence, and asks you to declare any criminal convictions. The deadline for applications is 30 June 2021.
Find information about applying on behalf of children on the Gov.uk website.
Use our EUSS Identity Verification Service
EUSS appointments are cancelled at present because of coronavirus, but applicants can get help on the Gov UK website.
