We are seeking to appoint an excellent practitioner to join our successful team as a teacher of RS. The ability to teach other social sciences would be an advantage. This is an exciting opportunity for either an experienced or a newly qualified teacher to join our dynamic social sciences team to deliver our Beliefs and Life curriculum to Key Stages 3 and 4 with the possibility of teaching GCSE RS for the right candidate.Beliefs and Life is a valued part of our core curriculum offer at Key Stages 3 and 4. It combines the delivery of our Religious Studies locally agreed syllabus and the PSHE national curriculum. Through the Belief and Life programme of study we aim to empower our students with the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to confidently lead happy, healthy lives and to live out our ethos and values of Respect, Resilience, Pride and Kindness. Belief and Life is taught as a Social Science and its teachers form part of a talented and committed team of Social Science professionals. Within Social Science we offer a breadth of subjects including RS (KS4 and KS5), Psychology (KS4 and KS5), Health and Social Care (KS4 & KS5), Citizenship (KS4), Politics (KS5), Criminology (KS5).Outside the formal curriculum we offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities and clubs for example debate club, the Magistrates and Bar Mock trials, EPQ, Duke of Edinburgh and LGBTQ+ club. There are also opportunities to take part in a range of trips, both locally and internationally.You should be an enthusiastic and motivational individual who is an excellent classroom practitioner, capable of delivering high quality lessons in Belief and Life. You should have the ability to work as part of a team of colleagues with a proven track record of supporting students to be highly successful academically and personally.If appointed, you would join a friendly team of professionals who continually strive for excellence and improve their practice through a range of CPD activities, including professional dialogue and discussion of evidence-based pedagogy.
