Support and guidance for patients and their families

Patient rights

The Get Your Rights website provides information for children and young people to help them understand their rights when they are using the NHS.

The Citizens Advice website has information on healthcare matters and patient rights, including financial help for hospital patients and health costs.

Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS)

Each hospital has a Patient Relations Team or Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) who can offer support and guidance to patients and families. Visit a hospital trust website for contact details of their PALS service:

Healthwatch Wokingham

Healthwatch Wokingham is the independent consumer champion created to gather and represent the views of the public. Often people don't want to provide service providers with feedback for fear their care may be compromised. People can talk to Healthwatch anonymously and in confidence about their experience of care.
