National Offer Day
National Offer Day
On 3 March 2025 we will let our parents know which school has been offered for their child.
Applications received via Citizens Portal
An email is sent to parents who applied via the Citizens Portal on the 3 March 2025. Parents can also see which school place has been offered by logging into the Citizen Portal website.
On-time paper applications
Parents who submitted an on-time paper application form and have provided an email address will be sent an email from 9am on National Offer Day.
No email or opted out of emails
If no email has been provided, parents will have their offer letter posted on National Offer Day. You'll be sent your offer letter by first class post on 3 March 2025.
You will not receive your outcome until your letter is delivered by royal mail.
We cannot provide your results by telephone so please do not telephone to request them.
Responding to your offer
The deadline for responding to your offer is 17 March 2025.
Applications received via Citizen’s Portal
Please accept or decline the school offered by logging into the Citizen Portal website.
Paper applications
Please accept or decline the school offered by completing the Accept or decline a secondary school place form. Only one form should be completed.
If you are not happy with the place offered, we recommend that you accept the place and remain on the waiting list for higher preferred schools. Accepting the offered place does not impact your chance of gaining a place from a wait list but will ensure your child has a school place for September.
The closing date for receipt of appeals is 29 March 2025. For more information, please visit the School admissions appeals and exclusions web page.
What happens next
You have until 17 March 2025 to respond to your school place offer. On 18 March 2025 responses will be imported onto our system and the team will then review any declined school places.
Once the team have confirmed a space is available, they will start to fill spaces from school waiting lists from 24 March 2025. This process typically takes 4 to 6 weeks to complete.
Waiting list information will be available from 18 March 2025, however, wait list positions will not settle for approximately 4 to 6 weeks.
To allow the team to focus on processing late applications and fill spaces from waiting lists, we ask that parents keep enquiries about waiting list positions to a minimum until May.
Updating your school preferences
To request any changes to the school preferences on your secondary school application please complete a Change of Preference Form (available from 3 March 2025.)
Change of Preference forms will be considered from 24 March 2025 in order of receipt. Please allow up to 15 school days from 24 March or date of submission (whichever is the latter) for a response.
The schools listed on this form will replace your original preferences so please include any previous schools you still want as preferences.
Moving house before September 2025
If you are moving before your child starts school in September, or making other school arrangements for your child, please inform the school admissions team immediately at schooladmissions@wokingham.gov.uk
