Designated or 'catchment' areas
Most schools have a designated or 'catchment' area which is an integral part of their over-subscription criteria and is used when considering school place offers. However, parents can apply for places at any school suitable for their child, even if they do not live in this designated area. When deciding which schools to apply for, we strongly encourage you to use all four preferences in your application and consider schools that are nearest to your home address, even if they are outside of the designated area, as well as being easier to get to, such schools are more likely to be able to admit your child.
The following schools do not have designated areas
Please note that these schools do not have a designated area and are therefore likely to appear if you run a search using the designated area catchment tool.

Oakbank Secondary School and Aldergrove Primary School - these schools have newly designated areas. Contact these schools directly if you believe you live within their designated areas.
