Winnersh Relief Road
Why we're building a Winnersh Relief Road
The Winnersh Relief Road will reduce existing congestion through Winnersh village and on the wider road network. It has also been designed to provide additional capacity, which will help the Borough meet its economic growth and job creation objectives. Now open, the new road will also improve existing routes and create new connections for pedestrians and cyclists that live and work in the area between King Street Lane and Reading Road.

Watch the video, below, showcasing the scheme to construct the next phases of the North Wokingham Distributor Road and Winnersh Relief Road. This is part of our £124 million Major Highways Project.
Project overview
Details of each of the schemes can be found on the relevant project webpage:
Phase 1 of the Relief Road connects the B3270 Lower Earley Way to the B3030 King Street Lane and provides access to the new Hatch Farm Dairies housing development.
Phase 2 will connect the B3030 King Street Lane to the A329 Reading Road. The scheme includes an extension to the existing Longdon Road and a new roundabout junction on the A329 Reading Road, north of the M4 overbridge.
The final part of this project is the widening and dualling on Lower Earley Way between Showcase Roundabout the junction with Winnersh Relief Road Phase 1.
