Residents of Shinfield will go to the polls on Thursday (5 December) to elect a new councillor.

It is important to remember to bring photo ID if you are voting in person, with polling stations open from 7am to 10pm.

Lots of forms of ID are accepted, such as a driving licence, passport and blue badge, but bringing a poll card by itself will not entitle you to vote. Make sure you read your poll card carefully, as it will tell you where to vote and remind you to bring photo ID.

If you have a postal vote but don’t send it in time, you can drop it to our Shute End office in Wokingham or at your polling station. If you do this, you must complete an additional form with an authorised member of staff.

If your postal ballot is spoilt or damaged, you can get a replacement up to 5pm on polling day by contacting our elections team.

The count for the by-election will take place overnight once the polls have closed and we will share the result on our website and on social media.
