Building works concerns

Working hours on building sites are generally Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, and Saturday from 8am to 1pm. On Sundays and Bank Holidays no building works are allowed. If you have a complaint about works on one of the major development sites, please contact us.

Housing

The Shinfield Parish major development site will see about 3,000 new homes in total, spread over extensions to Shinfield village, Three Mile Cross and Spencers Wood.

All allocated sites within this major development location now have outline planning permission. Of the 2,765 with reserved matters or full planning permission, 2,663 homes were completed as of March 2023.



The remaining housing is largely being built by Vistry.

Shinfield Village  

• Shinfield West (Shinfield Meadows) Phase 1 and 2 - 1,022 new homes and an additional 148 places for specialist housing to include sheltered housing. Phase 1 - 517 homes complete. Phase 2 - 285 homes complete. Phase 3 - 25 homes complete phase 4 - 7 units yet to come. 
• Cutbush Lane – 126 new homes completed
• The Manor (immediately adjacent to the major development area) – 126 new homes completed
• Land south of Cutbush Lane - 249 new homes almost completed

Three Mile Cross and Spencers Wood

• Land to the east of both villages, north and south of Croft Road – 899 new homes completed
• Land north of Hyde End Road - 32 new homes completed
• Small site north of Croft Road - nine new homes completed
• Croft Road (former site of 2 Rose Cottage) - 6 new homes completed
• Land east of Basingstoke Road, at the northern end of Spencers Wood - 100 new homes completed
• Land east of Basingstoke Road and north of Grazeley Road - 272 new homes completed
• Land at Parklands, Spencers Wood - 55 new homes completed (permission granted on appeal)
