1. Please could you provide the sequencing/programming of the traffic signals used at the "Winnersh Crossroads", specifically the intersection between the A329, King St Ln and Robinhood Ln.
This site operates under MOVA control, which is an adaptive traffic signal control system used to maximise efficiency of junctions through the use of on street detection and a site model. Therefore, the stage sequence changes dependent on demand for each movement in real time. The site model is completed by an experienced signal engineer and different parameters are validated to match the model to ensure the junction can operate as efficiently as possible.

2. Please specify the timings of each rotation, the impact induction loops have on these timings and whether the sequence varies depending on the time of day.
The timings of each stage are dependent on the demand, MOVA calculates a minimum time for each approach before the stage changes by counting the cars in the existing queues using the induction loops. Once this time has expired MOVA then uses the loops to check if the initial queue has cleared based on gap times between vehicles hitting the loops. Once the gaps become large this indicates free flowing traffic, at this point MOVA then assesses the status of the other approaches and does a calculation to determine the benefit of holding the current approach at green compared to the disbenefit to the other approaches, MOVA will then change stage at the optimal point. The induction loops are placed in certain locations based on junction geometry and measured speeds of vehicles at the site to allow MOVA to form an accurate model of the junction in real time by counting vehicles in and out of lanes.

The sequence will vary depending on the time of day but based off current demand rather than current time, MOVA can switch between 2 modes, delay minimising mode and capacity maximising mode to combat busy periods, it does this automatically based on set parameters.
