1. Do you currently operate commercial or residential waste collection services. If via a contractor, please can you provide their name. Similarly, if in partnership with another authority, please name. Is the collection:
a) directly / inhouse
b) via a waste contractor
c) or through a joint-partnership with another authority?
b) via a waste contractor
2. Could you please provide a breakdown of the number of large (i.e. a bin with capacity greater than 500 litres) recycling and general waste bins that you own, or fall under the remit of your authority?
Currently as an estimate, we believe there are about 120 x 1100 litre bins still in use.
The new builds coming on line in the past 2 or 3 years undertake their own supply or replace via managing agents etc.
a) Can you provide details of how many of these bins are metal vs plastic?
The containers have been changed to plastic, there are very few metal bins in situ now.
b) Are these bins purchased outright by the authority, or leased?
Council owned bins would be purchased by the Council. Managing agents will purchase their own bins where they have provided their own containers.
3. If possible, can you provide any details of spending history on large (i.e. a capacity greater than 500 litres) recycling and general waste bins? (as many years as reasonably possible).
Last year the spend was approximately £2,400 on new bins but these were for the smaller type (less than 500 litres). In total we only ordered 14 x 1100 ltr last year.
a) Can you provide details of which supplies this spend was with?
SULO or more recently Creamer.
4. Do you carry out any maintenance on your existing fleet of ‘large’ bins? Is this done inhouse, or via a contractor? If via a contractor please name
