Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, please can you provide me with the following information on veterans and social housing in your local authority:

1. The number of veterans that were on a social housing waiting list in your local authority, in each month since the start of the financial year 2018/19;
We are unable to run historical waiting list so do not have this data available. As of 18/11/2024 we have 3 applicants who are former members of the regular armed forces who joined the register on dates below:

2. The average length of time spent by a veteran on a social housing waiting list in your local authority, since the start of the financial year 2018/19;
As above, we are unable to run historical waiting lists so do not have historical data, as of 18/11/2024 we have 3 applicants who are former members of the regular armed forces and the average wait time for these applicants is 34 weeks

3. The longest time a veteran has spent on a social housing waiting list in your local authority since the start of the financial year 2018/19;
As above, we are unable to run historical waiting lists so do not have historical data, as of 18/11/2024 we have 3 applicants who are former members of the regular armed forces and the longest wait time is 43 weeks

4. The number of complaints made by veterans in social housing about their social housing provision to your local authority, in each month since the start of the financial year 2018/19;

With this FOI, we do not store information relating to a residents military service history within Complaint Data Recording. Additionally our housing department have gone back through and cannot see that a resident who has complained to us in the past has raised their military history within their complaint.

5. The number of veterans that contacted your local authority asking for financial support of any kind in each month since the start of the financial year 2018/19.
As far as the Household Support Fund is concerned, the Council does not hold any information on whether applicants are veterans or not.
The assessment service don’t routinely hold this information in relation to Housing Benefit/Council tax reduction DHP or LWP.
