All prospective adopters are required to attend a three-day preparation course, this covers exercises on promoting a child’s identity. They are also required to attend parenting training (three days) and a reflection workshop (half day course). There is also optional training for prospective adopters who are interested in exploring early permanence or adopting siblings. We also have a monthly support group for adopters which includes training on a range of topics. We encourage prospective adopters to sign up for a license for CATCH (an online training resource) which has a wealth of resources including webinars which can be accessed at any time, this contains information and training on trans-racial adoption.
