I would like this information for each of the last six calendar years as follows: 2017/2018/2019/2020/2021/2022
1. How many streetlights have been reported as faulty in your area?
We do not report on this. All works instructions relating to highway electrical work (street lights, illuminated signs, illuminated bollards, feeder pillars, etc.) are issued to our contractor through our “HIMS” works management system however works that might be deemed “faults” are not easily distinguished from other maintenance works, duplicated works and cancelled works. Additionally some single works instructions may cover faults affecting multiple units. To produce the information you have requested we would therefore need to analyse each individual works instruction manually as well as instructing our software supplier to produce suitable reports to extract the appropriate information in a useable format with the necessary data fields to sort and filter it. The overall number of works instructions raised for highway electrical works for the years you have requested is 7,564 no. As an approximate estimate to manually assess this information would equate to around 65 hours of staff time/resource. (Section 12 FOI Act)
2. What was the average amount of time taken between the reporting of a fault with a streetlight and its resolution?
We do not report on this. This data is not readily available and could only be calculated as part of the analysis work detailed above in question 1.
3. What was the longest delay between the reporting of a streetlight problem and its resolution?
We do not report on this. This data is not readily available and could only be calculated as part of the analysis work detailed above in question 1.
4. What is the most recent estimate of the number of streetlights in your area that are currently not functioning or partly functioning?
Very approximate estimate is circa 50 no.
