My request relates to sexual health services funding and is as follows:

1.
a) The number of sexual health clinic locations in your boroughs for the financial year of 2019/20?
Berkshire has two block contracts, one which run in the East of the County – for Slough, Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead and Bracknell Forest Councils – and one in Berkshire West – covering West Berkshire, Reading and Wokingham Councils.

Each contract works on the same model: one main base each with further part-time clinics spread through out the rest of the contract area (there is a minimum of one ‘Clinic’ in each geographical Local Authority.) Each contract also has mobile outreach workers who specialise in hard to reach patients / residents – eg: vulnerable, people aged under 25 years, men who have sex with men (M2M), sex workers etc. Services also operate clinics at colleges and schools which are on a demand-led basis.

There is therefore no one number answer.

b) The number of sexual health clinic locations planned in your boroughs for the financial year of 2020/21?
As with above, there is no one number answer. There were no changes in clinics between 19/20 and 20/21 – except with the response to Covid requiring spoke/mobile clinics to been temporarily suspended and/or fewer held throughout the same period. There has also been a continuation of provision for Vulnerable Patients. Please see question 1(a).

2.
a) How much did you spend on sexual health services for the financial year 2019/20 (Please could provide a total figure, this will usually include testing & treatment, contraception, advice and prevention. If possible, please could you also break down these figures into specific services. However, if you think this will take the FOI beyond the time-limit, a total will suffice)?
RBH: £604,109
GP Provision for LARC: £119,379
Out of Area: £98,758
Emergency Hormone Contraception – Pharmacy: £1,020

b) How much do you plan to spend on sexual health services in the financial year of 2020/2021
RBH: £618,000
GP Provision for LARC: £79,638
Out of Area: £63,118
Emergency Hormone Contraception – Pharmacy: £1,000

For questions 3-5, if targeted services include intersections across particular identity groups, please specify.
