I would like to request the following information from the SEND / CTU transport team under the Freedom of Information Act.
1. How many young people, who attend non-residential secondary school (mainstream or specialist), were provided with SOLE transport (home-to-school) by Wokingham Borough Council in 2022/2023, 2023/2024, 2024/2025? Please list per year and provide the name of the schools these young people are attending.
2. How many school years have these young people been provided with SOLE transport during 2022/2023, 2023/2024, 2024/2025? For example for one year, two years etc
3. What are the total amount of miles a young people taking sole transport travels per day (a return trip) to attend their school? Please supply miles per school for 2022/2023, 2023/2024, 2024/2025.
4. What is the average travelling time per day (to school and from school) for young people taking sole transport in 2022/2023, 2023/2024, 2024/2025? Please state in hours and minutes.
5. How many of these young people started with shared transport and then transferred into sole transport to access their existing school in 2022/2023, 2023/2024, 2024/2025. In each case, what needs or reasons was given to change the transport arrangements?
6. How many of these young people who had sole transport moved onto Personal Travel Budgets in 2022/2023, 2023/2024, 2024/2025 to access their existing school? In each case, what were the reasons the transport arrangements were changed?
7. How many of these young people who had sole transport moved into shared taxi/transport to access their existing school in 2022/2023, 2023/2024, 2024/2025? In each case, what were the reasons the transport arrangements were changed?
8. What does it cost Wokingham Borough Council to provide a single sole transport journey (round trip) per secondary school over 2022/2023, 2023/2024, 2024/2025?
9. Does WBC have a budget allocated exclusively to sole transport for SEND young people for 2024/2025?
