I am writing to request information relating to a road your authority is responsible for maintaining. My query relates to the church road swallow field north of the George and dragon pub between Nutbean lane and swallow field road and Reading road between Simons lane and Landen Grove. Please can you send me:

1. A copy of your current road maintenance policy relating to that road. Please send me the full policy, but this should include details of the intended frequency of road safety inspections, how these inspections should be conducted and the maximum time between identification of a defect and repairs being carried out.

2. A copy of the road repair history for that road over the past year. Again, please send me the full road repair history, but this should include:
- dates of all safety inspections between [01/12/2022 and 10/01/2023 for Reading road and between 01/07/2023 and 21/08/2023 for Church Lane]
- details of how safety inspections were undertaken (walked or driven, speed of inspection vehicle etc)
- details of all carriageway defects identified, with description, date and time
- details of how the authority handled these defects, what repairs were undertaken and the time between the identification of each defect and a repair being carried out.

1) Wokingham Borough Council’s approach to road maintenance is explained in the Wokingham Highways Inspection Policy (WHIP), which forms Chapter 2 (Highway Network Maintenance) of the Wokingham Highways Maintenance Management Plan (HMMP). An Inspection Report is provided for CHURCH ROAD, SWALLOWFIELD. The file contains details for the entire extent of the street, from The Street, Swallowfield, to Swallowfield Road, Farley Hill. The Inspection Report contains details of all inspections carried out on the road during the period 1 August 2022 to 29 August 2023, including inspection dates, inspection findings, actions taken, customer reports and works orders. The Inspection Report has been redacted to remove any personal information. The report includes details of any safety inspections between 1 July 2023 and 21 August 2023.

The Inspection Report contains details of all inspections carried out on the road during the period period 1 August 2022 to 29 August 2023, including inspection dates, inspection findings, actions taken, customer reports and works orders. The Inspection Report has been redacted to remove any personal information. The report includes details of any safety inspections between 01 December 2022 and 10 January 2023.
