1. How many pupil referral units (PRUs) or other alternative provision (AP) in your area are in deficit or are projecting a deficit in the next year?

2. What is the average funding PRUs/AP receive per pupil in your area?
The local authority provides an agreed amount of funding to the PRU for a set number of places each year, and do not allocate individual pupil funding. On occasions where a child requires additional funding on top of this in order to deliver the provision required, this is agreed between the PRU and LA.

3. How many permanent exclusions were there in your local authority area in the following academic years:
2018-19: 23
2021-22: 15
2022-23: 23

4. How many students are waiting for PRU/AP places currently in your area?
1 student currently waiting to start at the PRU, AP not known by EWS.
