1. Please could you let me know the borough's minimum sizing for a pavement and/or walkway.
Pavements or footways which run alongside and form part of the public highway are different from walkways, which can refer to elevated structures and therefore different standards of provision may apply.

2. The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) states that there should be a minimum of 1200mm. Can you confirm Wokingham Borough council enforces this? Particularly when approving new developments.
There are no statutory or mandatory standards relating to pedestrian footway or walkway widths and when approving new developments, the Council refers to a variety of good practice information and guidance documents, including the Wokingham Interactive Borough Design Guide, Manual for Streets, DfT’s Inclusive Mobility and CIHT’s Providing for Pedestrian Journey’s on Foot.
The Disability Discrimination Act 2005 has been superseded by the Equality Act 2010 and, in considering the needs for pedestrian provision on its’ existing road network, the Council as highway authority will ensure there is no ‘substantial disadvantage’ arising from a lack of footway provision or make ‘reasonable adjustments’ where, in the Council’s opinion these are deemed to be effective in reducing disadvantage, practical without disadvantaging other users and where the cost of provision is in proportion to public resources.

3. If you don't enforce this, can you confirm what minimum requirement you have within the borough?
In cases of new footway provision, the standards used by the Council are determined during design based on anticipated levels of individual or shared use, frontage activity and available space with due reference to the design guidance set out in (2) above.
