Freedom of Information Request – Energy Efficiency (Private Rented Property) (England and Wales) Regulations 2015 (SI2015/962) (The “MEES Regulations”) and Non-Domestic Property – Compliance Notices and Penalties

I am writing to make a formal request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. I kindly request that you provide me with the following information relating to the enforcement of the Non-Domestic Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) within your local authority’s jurisdiction. Please provide information for non-domestic properties only.

1. In respect of non-domestic properties only, how many tenant – reported breaches of the MEES Regulations did the LA received in the following periods:
a) 01.04.2018 (when the MEES Regulations came into effect) to 31.03.2022: 0
b) 01.04.2022 to 31.03.2023: 0
c) Since 01.04.2023: 0

2. In respect of non-domestic properties only, how many compliance notices in total have the LA issued during the following periods: 0

Trading Standards Officers are responsible for the investigation and enforcement of MEES in non-domestic properties.
