1. As a freedom of information request, please provide the number of complaints you have received annually regarding filthy and verminous properties, from 2018 till 2022, and the number received so far this year.
The below figures are from our Housing Department. As per Housing Ombudsman definition, a complaint is an expression of dissatisfaction about the standard of service, service not provided, actions taken by staff or contractors or lack of action taken by staff or contractors affecting an individual resident or group of residents. Therefore, I am looking for complaints in our database that meet filthy or verminous but the complaint may be about the service provided or actions taken rather than the condition of the property. Complaint Investigations may not have upheld these complaints. We carry out Stock Condition surveys regularly of our housing stock.
2022: 2x Lack of action on rat concerns / 2x Lack of communication from rat issue reporting.
2021: 4x Raising of rat concerns in addition to other areas of complaint.
