3.
a) How many EEA/Swiss residents or households live in Wokingham?
b) How many of these are considered vulnerable (e.g. in care homes or fostered or predicted to experience language barriers or have limited access to technology)?
Latest population estimates for Wokingham borough (June 2020) indicate we have a total resident population of around 166,000.
• Approximately 25,000 Wokingham residents were born outside of the UK.
o Around 17,000 were born in Non-EU countries
o 10,000 of which were born in Asia
o So we estimate up to 7,000 Wokingham residents are from other Non-EU countries. But we don’t have any more specific demographic information.
4. What are the plans, if any, for reaching out to EEA/Swiss nationals in Wokingham to ensure no one, especially the ones in vulnerable status, is going to miss the application deadline and avoid deportation?
