1. Please would you let me know does all the revenue from Council Tax payments and from Business Rates collected by Wokingham Borough Council, go to Central Government and then the government in turn returns only a percentage back to Wokingham Borough Council and then also remits certain identified Grant payments to Wokingham Borough Council?
We have been advised by our finance department that the Council retains 100% of Council Tax income, and a percentage of Business Rates Income. The remaining percentage is remitted to Central Government. We also receive certain grant payments from Central Government.
