At 31.03.2016 the number of accounts in credit was 1144 with a value of £228,781.03.

b) January 2017:
At 31.03.2017 the number of accounts in credit was 1223 with a value of £306,845.65.

c) January 2018:
At 31.03.2018 the number of accounts in credit was 1220 with a value of £348,959.99.

d) January 2019:
At 31.03.2019 the number of accounts in credit was 4178 with a value of £887,385.97.

e) January 2020:
At 31.03.2020 the number of accounts in credit was 5070 with a value of £1,172,647.30.

f) January 2021:
At 31.03.2021 the number of accounts in credit was 5724 with a value of £1,347,218.27.

We are unable to provide the specific information requested as this is not reported on during the financial year. So we can only provide the number of accounts in credit at the end of any given financial year with the value. With regards to categorising the overpayment reason this is not an option as would be a manual task checking each account on our council tax system (as you can see there are thousands) to identify reason and therefore are applying Section 12 to this part of the request.
