1. How many properties are owned (tenanted and leasehold) by your local authority (please provide the date 'at' for this figure)?
As at 11/11/2021 there is 2596 properties.
2. How much did your local authority spend on responsive repairs and maintenance including on the blocks and estates they're situated on) in 2020/21?
From April to the end of September £1.353m This does not include invoices that are in the system but not yet paid. As requested, this figure is limited to repairs and maintenance and therefore it does not include improvements, upgrades or projects.
3. Please supply me with a summary of the first TEN complaints received in 2020/21 regarding maintenance issues in council owned properties (tenanted and leasehold). Please include in each of the ten complaint summaries:
a) The address of the property (street name, part of the city)
b) The exact wording of the complaint received by the occupant and/or a brief summary – e.g., ‘major flooding in kitchen has inundated all rooms on the ground floor’
Please be aware that we are only supplying complaint info that has been in the formal part of the our complaint process (Stage 1 or Stage 2). Our complaint process and policy can be found on the Council website. Where you will find we do have an early resolution informal stage of the complaint process, these early resolution complaints have not been included for this FOI. Please be aware we are also supplying the first ten complaints from Jan 2020 to Jan 2021 period. We cannot supply street name as people may still be able to identify the complaint/ant or property where this occurred, but we will supply part of Wokingham (please refer to the wokingham borough council town and parish council map)
1. Wokingham Town – Boiler fault not rectified and damp/mould issues in property.
2. Wokingham Town – Complaint about gas contractor regarding lack of service, late appointment, incorrect information given and remaining issue with heating/boiler.
3. Remenham – Complaint about heating and contractor service as well as additional parking issues.
4. Wokingham Town – Complaint about the quality of remedial work to a shower by contractor.
5. Finchampstead – Complaint about the service received from gas/heating contractor
6. Wokingham Town – Complaint about service received from contractor (poor service and lack of communication).
7. Winnersh – Complaint about the service received from gas/heating contractor (not repairing the fault with the boiler).
8. Wokingham Town – Complaint about defects. Lack of dryer in property and issues with installation of cables for TV/Wifi, concerns over security of rear courtyard, water not getting hot enough, radiator faulty and further issues such as parking and noise due to location of property (BerryBrook Homes)
9. Wokingham Town – Complaint about leak from ceiling (flat above), water damage causing heating and fridge to stop working.
10. Twyford – Security breach concern regarding office of sheltered building being left open where back up keys for the flats are stored.
