1. Please can you provide;
A Financial Summary of Compensation Costs for 2019 and 2020 to Wokingham Borough Council for damage and/or injury caused by Pot Holes or uneven pavement surfaces, for which Wokingham Borough Council have maintenance responsibility.

The summary to identify total number of successfully claims and financial recompense for each year. Details of individual claims is NOT to be delivered. Please distinguish in summaries, between Pavement or Road.

In 2020 a total of 44 claims arising from alleged “potholes” in the carriageway were made against the council and passed to the council’s Public Liability insurers. Of these claims, 27 have been paid at a total of £9,461.86 in compensation and 2 claims are awaiting settlement.

In 2019 a total of 16 such claims were made of which 9 were paid at a total of £7,674.09 in compensation.

In 2020 a total of 5 claims arising from allegedly damaged/uneven pavements were made against the council and passed to the council’s Public Liability insurers. Of these claims, 1 has been paid at a total of £2,575.00 in compensation.

In 2019 a total of 8 such claims were made of which 1 was paid at a total of £500.00 in compensation.
