We have 80 Advisory disabled bays (Not enforceable under Traffic management Act powers) and 29 Permanent Disabled bays on street, and 152 Disabled bays in our off street car parks. ( We also allow Disabled badge holders to park in any space within the car parks providing they park within the markings of the bay and display a valid blue badge.)

The current number of live badges in our Local Authority is : 7767

3. How many Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) have been issued for the misuse of disabled parking bays in each of the last 3 calendar years (2022, 2023, 2024)?
2022 Jan – Dec 1,511 Penalty Notices issued
2023 Jan – Dec 2,180 Penalty Notices issued
2024 Jan – Dec 1,461 Penalty Notices issued

4. What is the total revenue generated from fines related to Blue Badge misuse in each of the last 3 calendar years (2022, 2023, 2024)? These offences might include but are not limited to using a fake blue badge, using an out-of-date one etc.
Penalty Notices are issued against a vehicle parked in a designated disabled parking place without displaying a valid disabled person badge in the prescribed manner we do not separate this against any other criteria.

5. What is the total revenue generated from fines related to drivers parking in a bay without a blue badge in each of the last 3 calendar years (2022, 2023, 2024)?

We are unable to provide this information due to a change of our system in July’24.
