Thanks for your response to request WBCIR:14699. These numbers (mostly zeros) look very very low. There will be numerous people in your borough who I'm sure who have a primary support reason of mental health who require residential care. If not, that would make Wokingham unique amongst all English councils, which I think is unlikely. Perhaps there are difficulties because of the way my questions were phrased, so could I ask you to respond to all the questions again, but using the following methodology.
Adults (under 65) with a primary support reason of mental health (excluding dementia and learning disabilities) placed within residential care (i.e. not any other type of care, e.g. nursing or supported living).
1.
a) How many Adults with a primary support reason of mental health (excluding dementia and learning difficulties) does the authority have placed in a CQC regulated Residential Care setting within the boundaries of the authority? 8
b) How many of the above placements (1a) have been made in the past 12 months (Sep 2020 to Aug 2021 inclusive)? 6
2.
a) How many Adults with a primary support reason of mental health (excluding dementia and learning difficulties) does the authority have placed into an "out of area" (i.e. outside the boundaries of the authority) CQC regulated Residential Care Setting? 14
b) How many of the above placements (2a) have been made in the past 12 months (Sep 2020 to Aug 2021 inclusive)? 12
3. What is the lowest, highest and average weekly price paid by the authority for one adult placement (with primary support reason of mental health) into a CQC regulated Residential Care setting?
Lowest: £232.25
Highest: £1,664
Average: £732.43
4. Is there a shortage of adult beds for CQC regulated Mental Health Residential Care placements within the authority and, if so, what is the shortfall / deficit?
No we use Supported Living and not the Residential care model
