1. It would be very much appreciated if you could provide with a list of all the abandoned, derelict and rundown detached houses in the area that you cover. I am looking for the following information:
• Location of property including house address
• Description of the condition of the property
• Any pictures you may have of the property
• Whether the council would be happy to sell the property.
• A link/contact information to a person, or website, if the property is for sale.

The Council do not publish the locations of vacant properties under FOI under the prevention and detection of crime exemption. In disclosing the information online this could allow for individuals to target those locations, for example; if the property is furbished but vacant due to the individual dying, or being unfurnished and look to squat at the location. The Councils properties when void are worked on and brought back into use – this can take a period of time depending on what work is required of the property.

There are also already other avenues that individuals can take to check on non-Council owned properties. Your local estate agency should be your first port of call and you can also check the land registry for property details. You could also check Auction houses which would sell these types of properties.
