Children in temporary accommodation
See notes
1. In the last 12 months, how many children have you recorded as living in temporary accommodation in your local authority?
87
2. Of those children, how many are currently registered at a school?
All but one who was not of statutory school age.
3. Across the last 12 months, could you provide me with the average number of days taken to allocate a child a school place who is living in temporary accommodation?
Only 4 children who were placed in temporary accommodation within the last 12 months applied to change schools via the Local Authority and on average were placed and started school within 13 days of application. 5 other children were placed following direct applications to an own admission authority school. As such the Local Authority does not have the average number of days taken to allocate these children a school place.
