My request relates to the range of signage recently installed at California Cross roundabout in Finchampstead.

1. Please supply me with minutes of any meetings, notes, internal documents or emails relating to the decision to install traffic signs (principally the markings on the road, but also any other traffic sign) at this location in as much as that relates to signs that are non-compliant with TSRGD.
The Council are applying Section 12 to this question (Appropriate limit of 18hours). Under this exemption, it includes the following points:
• determining whether you hold the information;
• locating that information or a document which may contain the information;
• retrieving the information or a document containing it; and
• extracting the information from a document containing it.

We can confirm that we would hold the information. Officers would need to review 10 years worth of material as the project started in 2015. There would have been fortnightly meetings with designers and other meetings with Members, Steering Groups, Parish Councillors and residents, along with 100's of internal meetings between staff over this period. These will not have been saved in an orderly format where we would know the contents of the document, and we would need to go through staff archives to understand what is in each document. We would be unaware of which document would contain information relating to traffic signs within those minutes or documents.

2. Please supply me with any correspondence to/from the Department for Transport/National Highways in relation to this signage.
None are required from the Department for Transport. National Highways has nothing to do with local highway design. Therefore we hold no information to supply for this question.

3. Please supply me with the authorisation under s64/65 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which permits the council to place this signage here.
None is required as it meets manual for Street and Traffic Signs manual guidance. Therefore we hold no information to supply for this question.

Following the internal review carried out by our Legal team they have agreed with the original response that section 12 exemption has been applied correctly.
