1. Has the council written to or met with UK, national or devolved governments to ask or lobby for climate action since 1st January 2023?
The council leader has initiated discussions with a local MP to highlight a key area for climate action within the planning sector. This namely regards assisting the local delivery of energy efficient homes through the suggested withdrawal, by the new Labour government, of the December 2023 Written Ministerial Statement: ‘Planning – Local Energy Efficiency Standards Update’.
The council has also worked with the National Grid and government bodies to progress climate action regarding greater renewable energy generation and security within the UK. This primarily regards supporting the addition and connection of new large scale photovoltaic projects to the infrastructure grid as soon as possible, such as Barkham Solar Farm within Wokingham Borough Council.

2. Please provide some evidence of the most recent letter or meeting such as a copy of the letter or email sent, or the date, topic of meeting and position of the person that the meeting was held with.
This has been attached for the planning example.
