3.
a) For each year (2019-2023)could you please tell me the total number of w.t.e (whole time equivalent) dog wardens you employ?
b) if the role of the dog warden has been dispersed to other staff could you please let me know how many staff undertake dog warden duties and what proportion of their time in whole time equivalents (w.t.e.) that they roughly spend on the dog warden's role.
c) If you do not directly employ any dog wardens and manage this function via a contract with an external provider could you please confirm the provider.
The Dog warden role was brought back in house in Jan 2022. At the beginning of 2022 we had 2 x part time dog wardens who did job share 37hrs per week.
This was reduced to 1 x part time dog warden in June 2022 , we still have 1 x PT dog warden although the dog collection service and rehoming process is now undertaken by an external contractor.
The majority of the animal welfare work is undertaken by the dog warden although occasionally ASB officers may visit properties to witness dogs barking (ooh) so appro 5% of ASB officer time.
We now have a contract with SDK Environmental who deal with abandoned dogs.
4. Please provide the first part of the postcode of the pound holding kennels ( the details are for geographical spatial mapping and so exact address is not required)
The holding kennels are based in SL2
