I would like to make a Freedom of Information request. Please could you provide the following information regarding your local authority:
1. How many of your social housing units are accessible and adaptable dwellings M4 (2) or wheelchair user dwellings M4(3) as of August 2024?
We do not have a register of adapted/accessible dwellings
2. How many people are on your waiting list for an accessible and adaptable dwelling M4 (2) or a wheelchair user dwelling M4(3)?
Housing Adaptions have advised there are 27 people on the waiting list where they are currently housed in a property that needs adapting to meet their long-term needs- one of these is a wheelchair user
Housing Needs have 14 applicants on waiting list who require wheelchair user dwelling and 38 applicants on waiting list who require adaptions (unable to distinguish from our Housing Register if these applicants require an accessible and adaptable dwelling or adaptations to any general needs property)
3. What is the average waiting time for tenants requiring an accessible and adaptable dwelling M4 (2) or a wheelchair user dwelling M4(3)?
Housing Adaptions have advised the average wait time for a tenant to have an existing property adapted is 306 working days.
Housing Needs have advised 65 weeks for applicants who require adaptations (unable to distinguish from our Housing Register if these applicants require an accessible and adaptable dwelling or adaptations to any general needs property, 87 weeks for applicants who require wheelchair dwelling
4. If the information in questions 1 to 3 is broken down into accessible and adaptable dwelling M4(2) and wheelchair user dwellings M4 (3), please could this breakdown be provided?
Housing Adaptions have advised it is not broken down.
