I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act, can you please provide the following:
1. How many penalty notices have been issued to parents for unauthorised pupil absences in the last three years (Between April 6 - April 5 2021/22, 2022/23, 2023/24)?
6 April 2021 – 5 April 2022: 303
6 April 2022 – 5 April 2023: 1172
6 April 2023 – 5 April 2024: 1315

a) What is the total monetary amount of the fines issued (broken down by year)
6 April 2021 – 5 April 2022: £17,040
6 April 2022 – 5 April 2023: £64,440
6 April 2023 – 5 April 2024: £74,160
b) Of the fines issued, how many were not paid within 21 days?
6 April 2021 – 5 April 2022: 10 (plus those that were not paid at all as detailed in response to Q3)
6 April 2022 – 5 April 2023: 14 (plus those that were not paid at all as detailed in response to Q3)
6 April 2023 – 5 April 2024: 13 (plus those that were not paid at all as detailed in response to Q3)
3. During the same time, how many non-paid fines resulted in further action including, an Education Supervision Order, Community Order or Jail Order. Broken down by year and type of further action.
6 April 2021 – 5 April 2022: 4 resulted in prosecution and 31 were withdrawn
6 April 2022 – 5 April 2023: 17 resulted in prosecution and 95 were withdrawn
6 April 2023 – 5 April 2024: 20 resulted in prosecution, 61 were withdrawn and 10 are pending prosecution
