1. How many unfixed potholes are there currently recorded under the council authority?
On 1 Feb 2024 there were 228 road defects classified as potholes awaiting repair.
2. How much has the council spent on pothole repairs in the last 3 years - can this be broken down by year? (From January 2021-December 2023) - Up to and including any data held for January 2024.
The following total sums were spent on the repair of road defects classified as potholes in the calendar years 2021, 2022 and 2024, and in January 2024 (the value for January 2024 is provisional).
2021: £275,565.54
2022: £163,875.32
2023: £283,447.78
January 2024: £27,217.29
3. How much has the council paid out in compensation claims and legal fees relating to vehicle damage caused by potholes since Jan 2022-Dec 2023 (up to and including any data held for Jan 2024)?
The council has paid £16,478.46 for pothole claims relating to vehicle damage since January 2022 to December 2023. This is regardless of when the claims were submitted.
