Illicit cigarettes and hand-rolling tobacco seized
See notes
1. The number of illicit cigarettes seized, broken down by year, in the last ten years (2013-2023).
We do not report on this. We only hold records for 6 years in line with our GDPR policy and only since the Public Protection Partnership was formed.
The data relating to the actual number of packs of cigarettes/hand-rolling tobacco seized is not stored in an accessible format (ie is not coded and it would require every service request and complaint to be read in full and cross referenced with the relevant investigations) therefore we are unable to retrieve it.

3. The number of Trading Standard officers in operation seizing illicit cigarettes and hand-rolling tobacco in your area, and the number for each of the last ten years (2013-2023).
We do not have a dedicated resource for the seizure of illicit cigarettes and hand-rolling tobacco. We respond to complaints/intel and carry out project work as required. The total number of TSOs’s in the team (including management) that could conduct this work is 4. We do not currently have any ongoing cases/work involving illicit tobacco.
