1. Which single street in your council area has produced the highest income from traffic or parking violations (income from just fines) in the 2022/2023 financial year? Please provide details of the number of tickets issued and the income to the council of motorists paying traffic or parking violations fine in relation to this single street in the 2022/23 financial year, and what the violations were Eg, parking, driving in bus lanes etc.
The location which has seen the highest level of non-compliance and therefore revenue from Penalty Charge Notices issued for the financial year 2022/2023 is the Market Place in Wokingham Town Centre. A total of 1,502 Penalty Charge Notices had been issued and paid equating to £62,547.90. Whilst this level of enforcement income has been received, the cost of providing enforcement is far more at approximately £750,000 per annum. The violation was contravention code 23 which is a vehicle parked in a parking place or area not designated for that class of vehicle.
