I'm writing under the Freedom of Information Act and would like answers to the following:
1. Has your Local Authority had contracts for the provision of adult social care handed back/ refused in the last 12 months?
Yes
2. If so, how many contracts for provision of adult social care have been handed back/refused by care providers to your local authority in the past 12 months.
5 residential packages for older people have been handed back. 9 homecare packages have been handed back.
3. Any summary details for why contracts were handed back/rejected.
Regarding the residential placements, providers of two older people's care homes requested mid-year uplifts which we were unable to agree to.
Of the 9 homecare packages handed back, 5 were due to a relationship breakdown and 4 were due to providers' capacity to cover the calls/geographical location.
