SEND travel: appeals and complaints
How to appeal
If you're unhappy with our decision not to offer your child travel assistance to school or college, you can submit an appeal.
There are 2 stages to the appeals process.
You have 20 working days from the day you received our travel assistance decision to submit an appeal.
Stage 1: review by a senior officer
You can appeal using our form. On the form you can:
- explain why you are asking for the decision to be reviewed
- include details of any family circumstances you wish to be considered
- provide supporting evidence
What happens next
A Senior Council Officer will review your appeal and consider your case. We will write to you within 20 working days of receiving your request, explaining the outcome of the review.
Stage 2: review by an independent panel
If you're unhappy with the decision at stage 1, you can request for your case to be escalated to stage 2, a review by an independent appeal panel.
You can email or post your request to appeal the stage 1 decision to the Community Transport Unit (CTU): schooltransport@wokingham.gov.uk
What happens next
The independent appeal panel will consider your request within 40 working days.
