Multi-Agency Inclusion Clinic (MAIC)
About the Multi-Agency Inclusion Clinic (MAIC)
The Multi-Agency Inclusion Clinic (MAIC) is an advisory clinic available to primary and secondary schools in Wokingham Borough.
The clinic gives schools advice on how the needs of a child or young person can be supported through support in school, outreach services, or alternative provision.
The MAIC is a way for professionals from Wokingham Borough schools, health services and Wokingham Borough Council to support children and young people through sharing advice, ideas and resources with each other. The MAIC cannot approve any funding.
When the MAIC meets
The MAIC meets every two weeks during term time.
Who attends the MAIC meetings
The people who attend the MAIC meetings are from:
- our alternative provision provider, Foundry College
- local schools
- our Education and SEND Services
- our Children’s Social Care Services
- NHS Berkshire Healthcare Services, for example, Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Children and Young People’s Integrated Therapies (CYPIT) and school nursing
Other professionals may also attend, depending on a child or young person’s needs.
How to access the MAIC
With your permission, schools or professionals from Wokingham Borough Council can refer a child or young person to be discussed at the MAIC.
Sharing your views
Parents, children and young people don't attend the MAIC, but your views are an important part of the meeting.
If your child is referred, your school will ask for your child’s and your views before the MAIC meeting.
What happens after the MAIC meeting
Your school will update you on the advice and ideas discussed and work with you to agree the next steps for your child or young person.
